I am pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 West Prize Acquisition Award. We received submissions from over 2,100 artists in 78 countries and the caliber of work was remarkable throughout. It was an honor to have to choose 10 winners from such an interesting applicant pool - yet, nearly impossible to choose only 10. Once again, I discovered many artists I look forward to following and hopefully adding to the collection one day. This year’s winners were chosen because their work stretches the collection in interesting ways, furthers the dialogue between works already in the collection,  and are a perfect fit for our current and upcoming programming. Additionally, these works will further our goal of providing a unique and challenging viewer experience when visiting the West Collection. Please join me in congratulating this year’s winners: David Almeida, Julie Alony, Leah Bailis, Kevin Cyr, Revital Falke, Sarah Kabot, Sharon Levy, Ryan McLennan, Julie Weitz, and Miyo Yoshido.
