In this exhibition, eight artists transform historical masterworks in contemporary art.  While this in itself is compelling, a significant transformation also occurs from the viewing experience. It is the intention of the artists that their works don’t only exist on the wall, but instead they choose to employ media and materials that are accessible to and inclusive of the contemporary viewer.  Many of the artists apply all available new technologies--AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Hi-Def Video--to re-imagine the work of the masters. Other Artists construct mainly with their own hands, collaging Styrofoam coolers, magazine cut-outs and phone books into the form of these historical works.  As Surprising as this use of materials is, the new works adeptly mimic the elegant qualities of the originals.
