Astrid Bowlby

Influenced by the world around her, Bowlby implements everyday visual elements into her work. The result can resemble household items such as balls of wool, fabrics, piles of leaves, or other textures we often see, but tend to ignore. Drawing is my primary activity, although my approach to the work may not be readily viewed as drawing. In a sculptural space, the room is the page and each object is a mark to be placed. Very specific feelings are evoked by careful arrangement.
